What's the most drastic change you've ever made to your appearance?
Submitted by Laurie.
I cut my hair very, very short. And then later dyed it fire-engine red.
Finally! I am finally going to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow! And I'm even going to go with people who want to get their at opening! That's so awesome! I have no garb, but that's okay. I'll still be happy to go with Seth and Danielle. And apparently a friend of mine from a loooong time ago is going tomorrow too.
AND! On October 8th, Christo, Franklyn, and I are going to go again. I'm hoping to convince Mike to come too. And then maybe Seth and Danielle will go again! And maybe some other people will come too *winkwinknudgenudge* :)
This whole weekend thing is AWESOME!
:D
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I am so in-between. I like waking up between 9a and 10a and going to bed around midnight. Too early is, well, too early, and being up really late . . . I like sunshine. Nay, I love sunshine. I'm trying to get more and I think my ship's just come in with my new Monday through Friday, 1p to 9p schedule! It's the new thing I can't stop blabbering about.
YEY!!!1!1
What's your favorite foreign accent?
This is a pretty easy one to answer, but it makes me feel a little superficial. ;) I love Australian accents because they're terribly sexy and the idea of living on the coast somewhere in Australia is just a fantasy to me. :D
How many places have you lived in your life?
Uhm . . . I was born in Massachusetts, lived in Fort Devons for a while, then my dad was stationed in Germany for a while, then they settled down in Aberdeen, Maryland. I ended up moving up the road a bit to Havre de Grace for a short time, then on to Buffalo, NY for a few months . . . I stayed in Aberdeen mostly for several years. Then Owings Mills, then Baltimore, now I live in TWO places! :D
I imagine I've got several more places to live before I'm settled.
What's your middle name? Is there a story or history behind it?
My middle name is Ann. I don't believe that there's a story or history behind it, but it might be the common middle name on my dad's side of the family. My name is entirely Irish: Caroline Ann Carney. I don't think that my mom had much to do with naming me. :)
A few things have happened and I feel that enough has happened to warrant an update.
* My little brother was released from jail on Friday, August 25th, after having spent 5+ months in jail for getting into a bar fight and giving an older kid 2 stitches. The judgment was a PBJ with 2 days of probation--he was to report to his CO in Norfolk, VA on Monday, so the judge gave him just enough unsupervised probation to make the prosecutor puke his guts out. Or maybe it was just a poke at the prosecutor for actually trying to make a case against a young man who did what young men do (aside from the fact that the other kid called my brother a chink) and more by serving our country in the Navy after he'd already spent so much time in jail unnecessarily.
* I found out today that I spent $40 for a 3-month subscription to DietWatch.com for them to build a meal plan for me and allow me to use their databases when KraftFoods.com has their own Healthy Living section which appears to give the exact same functionality for free. It may not have everything, but after this initial 3-months with DietWatch.com I should be able to go to KraftFoods.com and continue on with better knowledge.
* The job is moving along. My schedule is still Friday through Monday (that's Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) which gives me 3 days off in the middle of the week. Unfortunately this doesn't allow me to do anything with anyone except for my cats and dog. The potential for overtime (after this current stint of "shit to do's" throughout the month) is great, so starting September I'll be working 50-hour work weeks.
* I am still smoke-free. I can't really remember when I quit, but I'm pretty sure I'm right around 2 months. I went out drinking with my brothers and others a few days ago and both of my brothers smoke. Even though I got hammered I still didn't smoke! Good sign.
* My older brother is getting married in a month to a lovely girl named Beth. I am going to be an Auntie of possible twins! It's very exciting. They live in Lewes, DE which is a short hike north of Rehobeth Beach and 3 miles from the beach. I'm going to visit them next week. It makes me want to squee, but anyone who knows me . . . no, I don't squee. ;)
* Speaking of DietWatch.com, I lost 2 pounds last week but I regained it this week, but . . . this week is not a good weighing week due to the timing. That is all I will say.
* Finally, I will finally be seeing a dentist on Thursday after 12+ years of having not seen one for a check-up. This is a check-up AND cleaning, conveniently located in Deep Creek, Maryland. :D So tonight or tomorrow morning I will be driving out to to the cool mini-mountains and rolling country-side of Western Maryland to go mountain biking and kayaking and fit a trip to the dentist in there on Thursday morning.
Oh noes! Over the past two days I have been logging what I have been eating.
I have found that I am a carbo-holic. Seriously. My nutritional score today was baaad. Or, more accurately "Poor". At least yesterday was "Moderate", even with my Ragu Express snack at the end of the night.

In my own defense though, it is just my second day, so . . . we'll see how the rest of the week goes. Hopefully I can kick myself into better gear after this coming "weekend" (i.e. Tuesday through Thursday) of mine where I can actually go out and buy better food. I saw a sample menu (right now I make the menu so that my eating habits can be identified) and it was like enlightment . . . "OH! Riiiight, I can eat those foods!"
In any case, I wish everyone a fantastic coming week! It's sure to be interesting and fulfilling!
Well, I'm really hoping that this diet helper helps me. I did it because it's easier when someone else plans your meals for you for a while. Plus, the whole being able to track your progress, read helpful articles, listen to motivational MP3s, etc. really is cool and, well, motivating. So here's to hoping to see progress in a month!
Check out the cool ticker! I designed it from the selections. :)

Or not. I guess Vox maybe does not take HTML. Boo hoo.
